One of those days, I got a call to say it was looking ok for the river (west). When I got there it was blowing about 16 to 20 in the middle. After a chat we decided to go with 7m on big boards . I got out first and had a few planing blasts across and back. The wind then dropped a tad and we had a few runs on and off the plane. Then a gust came through from the north west and we were on the edge. A really big squall came through and we got flattened. That, as often happens, killed the wind and after another spell of on off we decided to pack up. As we were loading up the wind went back to the west and picked up a bit,I was tempted to rig again but with the dropping tide I decided against it. Not the best day but at least I had a sail
